Screen Printing

What is Screen Printing?

Screen printing is a printing technique where ink is pushed through a stencil (screen) onto a surface to create a design. It is widely used for custom apparel, promotional products, posters, and signage.

Key Aspects of Screen Printing

  1. Printing Process

    • A mesh screen is coated with a light-sensitive emulsion.
    • The design is exposed onto the screen, creating a stencil.
    • Ink is pushed through the screen onto the material using a squeegee.
    • The printed design is then cured using heat to ensure durability.
  2. Types of Screen Printing

    • Plastisol Printing – Most common method, provides vibrant colors and durability.
    • Water-Based Printing – Softer feel, eco-friendly, ideal for light fabrics.
    • Discharge Printing – Removes dye from dark fabrics, creating a soft, vintage look.
    • Puff & Specialty Inks – Includes metallic, glow-in-the-dark, and textured inks for unique effects.
  3. Materials & Surfaces

    • Commonly used on cotton, polyester, and blended fabrics.
    • Also applicable on glass, plastic, wood, and metal surfaces.
  4. Advantages

    • Cost-effective for bulk printing.
    • Long-lasting, vibrant colors that withstand multiple washes.
    • Works well for detailed and multi-color designs.
